William Godwin to Mary Hays, 30 Kirby Street, Hatton Garden, 18 January [1796].1 

 

     This afternoon I received your first sheet,2 &, in compliance with your request, write to inform you that I find it thus far well-written and interesting.

     I am under engagement to drink tea with you on Wednesday.3
