Mary Hays, 3 Park Street, Islington, to William Tooke, 39 Ormond Street, 16 February [1807].1
Dear Sir, will you have the goodness to leave out for me the remaining vols of Hume, for which my servant shall call in a day or two; and return to you, at the same time, Phillip II. Have you heard any thing more from your friends, whom I hope ere long to be summoned to meet. Can you direct me where to find ecclesiastical records of the Stuarts reign, & those which followed? I am also at a loss for the useful & elegant arts of this period. You may perceive how I presume upon your friendship, of the value of which I am fully sensible; as also of the kindness which I have received from every branch of your family. On my next visit to my brother,2 I purpose doing myself the pleasure of paying my respects to your brother & his lady. Present my grateful compliments to every part of your family, & allow me to subscribe myself your sincere & obliged friend M Hays. Feby 16th No 3. Park Street, Islington.
